Sketches are such a great way to inspire us to create, while still allowing us a bit of creative license to add our own style to the design. This month, Alissa Fast did just that with the fun layout she created based off our this month’s sketch. Let’s take a look at her creation, and the layout that inspired it!
Good morning, all! It’s Alissa here today and I’ve got my take on this fabulous sketch! I love everything about it! The original layout, by Meghann Andrew, is so inspiring! I love the layering of the journal tags and the fussy cut elements.
Here is the original layout:
And the sketch based off of the layout:
The layers and colors are my favorite part. The different textures are just gorgeous and all work together with Meghann’s adorable photo.
I stuck pretty close to the sketch, but I used a 12″ x 12″ base. The sketch is square but, Meghann’s page is a vertical rectangle and it works either way. Even a card would be fabulous with this sketch!
I loved all of the fun elements in the special Happy Birthday mini collection and the free birthday pack included with all shipped orders this month. I really loved the tissue confetti and incorporated it into my design.
These cute Acrylic Birthday Candles are my very favorite thing in the Happy Birthday mini collection. So, so fun!
