Perfecting the Pockets with Maggie Massey

We love seeing our exclusive tags in your pocket page layouts, and now with the new Family Fun collection¬†available in the shop to fill your pockets and coordinate with our monthly kit, the design options are endless! Today Maggie Massey is sharing a new pocket page on the blog today, and telling us how she pulls her pages together! Let’s take a look.

Hello, hello everyone! It’s Maggie here with a look at a pocket page I created recently using this month’s kit + extras – and a few pieces from the brand new Family Fun Collection!

Whenever I have more than one or two photos to scrap for an event, I always turn to using a pocket page layout for my documenting. The Elle’s Studio exclusive kits are just perfect for this!

I start by printing out the photos I’d like to use, and arrange them on my pocket page protector.

Next, I go through my September 2017 Kit tags (and, in this case, the new Family Fun Double-Sided Journaling Tags), adding the ones I like and moving them around until I get the layout I like best.

Then, I add my journaling. It’s fun to throw in some stamping too, like I did here with the¬†Stanley Number Stamp.

Finally, I embellish the cards one at a time, until they are all completed and I’m happy with the outcome!

Now, because I like to use mainly 3″ x 4″ photos and tags in my pages, and, because I don’t have any pocket protectors that have spaces for only 3″ x 4″ tags, I will adhere my tags to a 4″ x 6″ piece of copy paper so that they don’t move around in the page’s 4″ x 6″ pockets. It works perfectly!

As with my scrapbook layouts, I like to keep my pocket pages on the simple side – not too cluttered or embellished. Just a few little pieces here and there are enough for me, and the punch apart die cuts included in the September Kit are perfect for these little finishing touches.

Thank you so much for taking a look at my page. I hope I’ve inspired you to create a little something in a pocket today!
