Simple Easter Treats or Place Cards with Jess Forster

Easter is right around the corner, and if you’re hosting a gathering, your to-do list is long! Why not get your table decor out of the way and create some cute treat bags that also double as place cards? Jess Forster is with us today to show us how easily they can come together, and your guests will never know! Let’s take a look!

Hi friends! Happy first day of spring! This year my sister and I taking over hosting duties from my mom for our family Easter celebration. I am excited but also a little nervous! Although Easter is three weeks away, I have already started planning the menu and the table decor. Specifically, I made these little treat bags that double, not only as sweet dessert for both kids and adults, but also serve as a place card! Super cute, these bags are easy to make and only require three supplies. Have a look!

Supplies | Tiny Blank Label Stickers, Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack

I selected the multi striped pattern paper from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, and I just love the pastel colours with the change of season. Swoon! Using my handy dandy paper trimmer, I cut 2″ x 3″ strips of paper and then cut a triangle on the bottom of one end. I did this 8 times as we have 8 guests coming for dinner.

From there I added small details to the banners. Using the Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, I placed the first letter of the guests’ name onto the Tiny Blank Label Stickers. I just love these type of delicate touches to any place setting or treat bag.

Next, I filled wax paper bags that I picked up from my local craft store with Cadbury Mini Eggs. For fun, I placed the blue, green, yellow and pink eggs in a ombre pattern. This was perhaps the longest part of the crafting process, but the real test was trying not to eat all the mini eggs! Ha! Finally, once the bags were filled, I simply stapled the banner on to the treat bags. One job complete!

These quick & easy Easter treat bags came together in no time which is good as I now have to research the best way to cook a ham! Happy crafting!! Happy Spring!

Documenting “The Details” with Tracey Fox

Our March stamp, The Details Stamp, includes an array of stamps that help you get your stories on your project or add tiny labels or punched die cuts for embellishment! Today, Tracey Fox has taken this fun stamp set to the next level with a new scrapbook layout that we know you will love! Let’s see what she created!

Hi there! I’m so excited to share this colorful layout that I made using The Details Stamp that was released this month. It’s such a versatile set that lets you document the main highlights of an event or story with ease.

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, Tiny Everyday Label Stickers, Spring Puffy Stickers, Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles, The Details Stamp, Noteworthy 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection

I knew immediately that I wanted to play with the circle stamps in the set. The sentiments and icons are so cute, and they perfectly fit the story of my day at the state fair with my best friend! I decided to stamp them in lots of colors in a repeating pattern to make my own patterned paper.

To help me line the stamps up neatly, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a grid of small circles into a piece of cardstock I could use as a template for my stamping.

Next, I focused on the “Who, What, Where, When, Why” stamp in the set. I stamped it on white cardstock, which I matted onto a yellow tag from the March 2019 Kit, and I placed it at the center of a grid of photos I arranged showing details from our trip to the fair. I used the Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers to fill in the blocks with my simple journaling. I love how this stamp can be used on so many different types of projects—layouts, pocket cards, traveler’s notebooks, planners, and mini-books—to capture the important details of just about any event or story.

I adhered my photo grid down the center of the layout with a couple of patterned layers using the Noteworthy 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection and a tag from the March Kit. Then, I added a few simple embellishments from the March kit die cuts, the Spring Puffy Stickers, the Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles, and the Tiny Everyday Label Stickers. I also added a few of the tiny word stamps from the stamp sets around my areas of embellishment.

Finally, I used my home-made circle stencil to trace a few of circle stamps with my trusty Elle’s Studio black pen. I like how it added some interest to the patterned stamping and echoed the black outlines on the journaling boxes in the center of the page. Thanks so much for taking a look today! I’m already excited to put this stamp set to use to tell more of my stories.

An Easter Mini Album with Melissa Morrelli

Our guest designer Melissa Morrelli inspired us last week with a beautiful traveler’s notebook spread, and this week, she’s switching things up to share a fun mini album that’s easy to put together in just minutes using only paper! We know you’ll want to create your own after you see her post. Let’s take a look!

Hi Friends! It’s Melissa and I’m back today to share another style of project that I’m also very fond of. Today I’m sharing a mini album documenting Easters past.

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, Tiny Everyday Label Stickers, Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, White Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Spring Puffy Stickers, Wood Veneer Easter Eggs, Chocolate Acrylic Bunnies, The Details Stamp, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack

To get this project started, I got my mini album assembled.  Assembling the album is really where the majority of the time goes into doing this type of project and it really is quite simple to assemble. Just follow these simple steps that I found from fellow scrapbooker, Enza Gudor:

  • For the cover, use a 11.75” x 4.25” piece of white cardstock. Score at 4” and 4.25”, then again at 3.25” and 3.5” after rotating it 180 degrees.
  • Cut the inside sheets at 4″ x 8″, score in the middle and fold. Adhere these sheets of paper back to back and adhere to the inside of the front and back covers of the mini album.
  • For a bit of a change, use vellum and transparency for your pages and stitch your papers onto the the spine of your album. I will warn you, the clear transparency paper is stiff and made it a bit of a challenge to keep the book open by itself, especially while trying to photograph, but the transparency did not compromise turning the pages in the album at all.

To be able keep my album closed, I attached some thin ribbon to the outside cover of my album (small, front cover and back cover) using double sided tape. Then, I created some pockets on the inside of my album (to the larger front cover and back cover) by stitching on a small piece of paper with my sewing machine. Lastly, I covered my album (all three sides) with cute paper from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, which is the perfect size for a project this size! I embellished the small, front cover with one of the super cute Wood Veneer Easter Eggs and I titled my album “Easter” using the Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers

I printed quite a few of my favorite Easter pictures of my kids and family. To keep things simple, I printed all my photos at 2.25 x 2.25″. Another reason this project came together so quickly is the use of the coordinating March kit and extras. Using these supplies took all the guess work out of coordinating my supplies!

Using paper from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack and tags from the March 2019 Kit, I just added a few layers behind all of my pictures to add in fun colors to my black and white photos. After getting all my pictures and paper layers glued into the album, I went back and started embellishing with more wood veneer pieces, those yummy looking Chocolate Acrylic Bunnies, Spring Puffy Stickers, Tiny Everyday Label Stickers and phrases from The Details Stamp. I love the addition of the vellum and clear transparencies in the album and how the embellishments on them stand out.

The addition of the pockets on the inside and back cover of the album gives me more space to add more stories for Easters to come! I hope this project has inspired you to get your Easter stories documented, too!

Hello, Elle’s Studio fans! I’m Melissa Morrelli, an obsessed picture taker and story teller. I am so thrilled to be a guest designer this month for Elle’s Studio. My absolute favorite method for documenting my family stories is in a traveler’s notebook—I really appreciate the compact size! My other paper love is making mini albums for special occasions (birthdays, holidays and vacations.) I live in California with my family, my favorite subject to photograph and tell stories about. We are an active family and we love the outdoors (you can always find us where the wild things are!) There’s never a dull moment in my life and there is always a story to tell.

I really hope I inspire you to make something fun!

We can’t wait to see what Melissa creates next week using the March kit and add-ons! Until then, follow her at her Instagram account, @melissamorrelli, for more mini album and traveler’s notebook inspiration.

Everyday Adventures Documented with Ashley Laura

Even the smallest spring adventures, like a trip to the zoo, a walk in the park or a bike ride can be documented in such a lovely way using our March kit and extras. Design team member Ashley Laura is with us today to share just how perfectly you can put a traveler’s notebook spread together using our newest products, and record a fun memory, too!

Hey everyone! I’m so glad to be back using the beautiful March kit and extras! I am loving this month’s color scheme, and I had the perfect picture to match all of the amazing sentiments in this month’s kit. I created a quick traveler’s notebook page documenting a photo of my daughter at the zoo. This was one of the first spring days in Texas and we decided to get out of the house for an adventure!

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, March Labels, Tiny Everyday Label Stickers, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, The Details Stamp

I’m obsessed with The Details Stamp, so I decided to create a quick background using stamps from the set and different ink colors that complimented the color scheme for this month.

Before I cut-apart the March Labels, I stuck the full sheet into my typewriter so that I could type onto each section. Once I cut them apart, I offset them underneath my photo. I also added a couple of the March Kit die cuts around those labels.

The photo could have stood alone without any extra layering but I couldn’t wait to use the more of the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, so I decided to layer up some patterns behind my photo.

I’d love to see how you all create your own patterned paper! Grab your Elle’s Studio stamps and share your take on a background!

Stacking the Springtime with Suzanna Stein

One of our favorite new products from the March release is the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack! This stack of beautiful colors and patterns (without any adhesive to hold you up!) holds an endless array of crafty possibilities! Let’s take a look at how Suzanna Stein is using it today!

Hey friends, I’m back on the blog today to share a layout using the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack! There are so many fun ways to use the paper stack, it was hard to choose a direction, but I finally chose to die cut pieces and create a diamond puzzled background!

Supplies | Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, 5 Ws Journaling Tags, Spring Puffy Stickers, Puffy Heart Stickers – Spring Mix, Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles, The Details Stamp

After die cutting the pieces in two different sized diamonds, I placed them together, alternating the patterns down the left side of the layout. I kept a few pieces to layer on the right side behind my photo, which gives the eye a guide to help the flow of the layout.

Using dimensional adhesive, I popped a few diamonds up and layered them over the others to give the left side dimension. Y’all know I’m a fan of layering, and I wanted to continue the dimension behind my photo. I used a mix of the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack patterned paper and fabric, for a different texture, as a mat to my photo.

Once I had the base of my layout done, I went on to embellish. Using a mix of March extras like the Spring Puffy Stickers, Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles and the new The Details Stamp, I created little clusters of embellishment around the layout.

For my journaling, I cut apart a 5 Ws Journaling Tag to document the who, what, where, when, and why of the photo. I finished it all off with splatters of gold craft mist, a doodled border and some Puffy Heart Stickers

I hope this gave you a bit of inspiration on how to use your Springtime Paper Stack. I can’t wait to see what y’all create!

Simply Stated Card Creations with Candace Perkins

Just because it’s handmade, doesn’t mean that it has to be complicated, and Candace Perkins is the perfect member of our design team to show us how beautiful simple can be. Let’s take a look at some new spring cards that she created for us today!

Hello friends! It’s Candace here to share a few simple and fun spring cards using the March Kit and extras. I love spring time! I love the bright colors and fun embellishments that are always released at this time of year to go with our photos & memories! If you have been following my work on the blog for a while, you know that I am a simple scrapper at heart. I like clean lines and designs in my layouts and the same goes for my cards.

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Large Wood Veneer Numbers, Wood Veneer Easter Eggs

The base of both cards are A2 size (4.25″ x 5.50″) made from white cardstock.  I like to start my cards here, with a clean, strong base to create from.

For my first card, I cut down yellow patterned paper from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack so it was .25″ smaller than the base, to leave a small white border around the edge of the card.  Next, I wrapped a bit of yellow twine around a Large Wood Veneer Number “8”.  I chose the number eight because my little guy’s birthday is coming up next month and I wanted to create a handmade card just for him!  To add a bit more color to the card, I layered a few of the die cuts from the March Kit with a perfect birthday sentiment!  I like simple cards, but I also like dimension.  I chose to pop both the die cut sentiment and the large wood veneer number up off the base of the card with adhesive squares.  I love the simple, clean look of the card with a pop of color and dimension.

The second card I chose to make was a little Easter card. I adore the Wood Veneer Easter Eggs in the shop and really wanted to find a way to use one on a card. I started by cutting three strips of paper from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack. Each strip was .5 inch wider than the previous strip. Next, I ran the strips through a scallop punch to add a bit of detail to the edge.  After adhering the scalloped pieces down to the base I wrapped a bit of twine around the top edge. This adds a fun texture to the card and helps to hide to raw edge of the paper.  I tucked one of the Wood Veneer Easter Eggs under the twine and for a final touch added a little “Happy Easter” tag.  So cute!

I had so much fun creating spring cards using the March Kit and extras release!  I would love to see what cards you create using the spring embellishments!  Have fun and don’t forget to tag #EllesStudio on Instagram, so that we can swoon over your creations!

Have a beautiful day!

Spring Puffy Sticker Love with Daniela

Our newest puffy stickers in the shop, the Spring Puffy Stickers, will have you wanting to document spring no matter what the weather looks like where you are! Design team member Daniela took the opportunity with a break in the weather to document an early spring day, and made great use of these puffy embellishments on her page. Let’s take a look!

I friends, it’s Daniela, sharing another layout with you guys today, focused on the lovely Spring Puffy Stickers. We had the most amazing February here in Germany this year. Although it’s winter, temperatures went so high that we could walk around in t-shirts and enjoy the sun. I took a picture of my son playing a game outside in the garden and I felt that the Spring Puffy Stickers matched this picture just perfectly. I grabbed some of the papers from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack and bits and pieces from the Noteworthy collection and started scrapping. This is how my layout turned out:

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, March Labels, White Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Spring Puffy Stickers, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Noteworthy 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection

You see, it became quite a colorful page. I felt that spring calls out for lots of colors! I mostly used the Spring Puffy Stickers on top of my big paper cluster in the center of the page. The phrase stickers are placed in groups of threes.

Some of the stickers are also placed on top of the pictures. This way, everything is connected somehow and there aren’t any lose elements. I have highlight stickers on both sides to keep the page balanced.

As you can see, I did a lot of layering on this page. The great thing about Elle’s Studio products is that they can be combined so easily, giving you the possibility to create big clusters. Have you noticed that the Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers match the teal dotted paper from the Noteworthy 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection just perfectly? The designs make scrapping so fun and easy—I love it when pages come together quickly!

Don’t hoard your Spring Puffy Stickers! Use them on your projects to create something beautiful.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Documenting the Secret Stash with Wendy Antenucci

There are so many treats to be had at this time of year! Whether its a candy that is delivered in your Easter Basket, or placed on the table for Sunday Easter dinner, document it with our March 2019 Kit and add-ons, the way that Wendy Antenucci is doing today with a brand new layout! Let’s take a look:

Hello everyone, it’s Wendy here today with a layout using the March 2019 Kit and extras!  My daughter is a peep fanatic and when I saw the cute Little Acrylic Bunnies, I just had to create a page about her love!

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, Tiny Everyday Label Stickers, Tiny Blank Label Stickers, Spring Puffy Stickers, Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Little Acrylic Bunnies, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Large Jane Alphabet Stamp – Outline, Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack, Noteworthy 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection

I began my page with a pile of pictures to represent the pile of Peeps that she has stashed in my cupboard. (Umm, really, can’t we find our own place to hide these?!)  The yellow and aqua 6″ x 6″ patterns from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack just fit perfectly for this springy layout, and to continue the sweetness of the page, I added in a doily to house the pictures.

I made an embellishment cluster at the top of the pile of pictures to pull your eyes from the top to the bottom.  In this cluster I focused on some fun die cuts from the March 2019 Kit and a pretty little bow to continue the sweetness of the page.[

My next step in my layout was to lay out a few of the Peeps, or Little Acrylic Bunnies, to really establish the point of the page.  I couldn’t resist the “heart eyes” die cut from the March Kit to get the whole point of my page across.

A cluster of tags and stickers were the next piece to my puzzle. I focused on using the Tiny Everyday Label Stickers to tell my story without ever writing a word!

Do you have an item that tends to show up on everything you create?  My new-found favorite are the Large Jane Alphabet Stamps! I chose to use the Large Jane Outline and some of the pretty papers in the Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack to create my title.  I ran my title vertically on my page to fit the big letters and make a statement!

A few puffy little heart stickers from the Spring Puffy Stickers finished up the sweetness on my page, leaving behind a sugary memory documented in the books, where all her brothers will find her stash!

What is your favorite springtime treat? Document it using our March kit and extras, and share on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio or in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group!

Spring Favorites With Guest Melissa Morrelli

A new month brings along a new guest designer to “wow” us with her projects, and we know you will love what March guest designer Melissa Morrelli has in store for you this month! Mellissa creates graphic and BOLD traveler’s notebook and mini album projects, and has a keen eye for good design. The traveler’s notebook spread that she’s sharing with us today using our March 2019 kit and add-ons is no exception. Let’s take a look!

Hi friends! Melissa here today to share my first project as the March guest designer here at Elle’s Studio. I have created a traveler’s notebook spread using a silly family selfie my crew took a few springs ago, after a bike ride and picnic at the park—which happens to be one one our first and favorite activities we do when spring arrives!

Supplies | March 2019 Kit, Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles, Spring Puffy StickersTeal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper StackThe Details Stamp

To start my layout I cut two pieces of grid paper to 4″x 8″ to use as my background for this layout. (I don’t adhere these pieces of paper into my traveler’s notebook until I’m completely done with my layout).

Working on the left side first, I printed my picture with a large white border. I then took several scraps from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack and just had fun layering all those bits and pieces behind my photo.

Moving on to the right side I used the numbered 3″ x 4″ card from the March 2019 Kit and I typed out some of our other favorite things about spring, using my typewriter. Then I added my “spring favorites” title with the Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers

Then, I started embellishing. I added stitching and staples to start with. Then I started stamping—I LOVE The Details Stamp! I stamped on the background of the right side of my spread and directly on my picture on the left. I added some Spring Puffy Stickers and die cut labels from the March Kit. Lastly, I backed the Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles with some paper and added those as the finishing touch.

I hope you enjoy my project and I hope I inspire you so make something fun, too!
