Summer “Camping” Adventures with the July Kit + Extras!

Hey there ES fans! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today. I’m not much of a camper myself—I’d consider myself a “glamper” instead—but when given the opportunity recently to have all of the fun of camping, minus sleeping outside in a tent, I was ALL for it, and I documented the fun with some of the new items in the July release in a pocket page.
Supplies | July 2017 Kit, Summer Journaling TagsLove This Life Printables, Love This Life Stamp, Summer Puffy Stickers, Everyday Circle Stickers, Stanley Alphabet Stamp – Outline, Olivia Alphabet Stamp

I based the color scheme of my double-sided layout from my favorite tag in the July Kit that I was determined NOT to hoard! The best part is, a similar tag can be found in the Love This Life Printables, so I felt more comfortable with using this lovely 3″ x 4″ tag as a filler, simply topping it with a die-cut heart and the “let’s eat” Summer Puffy Sticker.

Eating outside next to a bonfire and roasting marshmallows evoke all the best memories of summer for me, and I decided to use the negative space in my 4″ x 6″ photo to add the “love this life” digital image from the Love This Life Printables.

On the back, I continued the same color scheme. Remember that I said the same beautiful sunset-colored stripe can be found in the Love This Life Printables? Well, I sized it from a 3″ x 4″ tag to a 4″ x 6″ tag, placing it right in the center of my page.

After printing it out, I topped it with a 3″ x 3″ photo of my dinner, a favorite of ours when we visit the U.K. each summer, and stamped “fish” using the Stanley Alphabet Stamp – Outline and “chips” using the Olivia Alphabet Stamp. I used the Everyday Circle ampersand sticker with some dimensional adhesive and added a few Summer Puffy Stickers to the right. I couldn’t stop without adding “the best” below my title using the Love This Life Stamp.

The 4″ x 6″ red-stripe tag was cut in half to create a 3″ x 4″ tag, and I added my typed journaling along the side. To embellish it a bit, I added the die-cut star circle from the July 2017 Kit, as well as the “love” and “this” Everyday Circle Stickers to the side with dimensional adhesive.
I love that the sunset photo on the bottom right matches the color scheme for this double-sided page, and that I’ve captured so many of my favorite summer foods and memories on one page! Summer Exploring with Melissa Mann

Our new products for summer are perfect for documenting those last-minute adventures before the days get longer and the weather starts to cool down. Today, Melissa Mann is sharing how she documented a summer road-trip in her home state! Let’s see what she made.
Good morning, everyone! We are in the throes of full-fledged summer here in hot Florida! I jumped at the chance to create a layout using the Summer Journaling TagsSummer Puffy Stickers, and Summer Stamp to document a few drives around our fair town and of course, the camera is always taken along for the trip.

I printed a few different photos in different sizes that I have taken in our surrounding areas and trimmed them down with a white border. I layered two pieces of patterned paper from the Live Laugh Love 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection and then layered a piece of white cardstock on top. I pulled a couple of the 4″ x 6″ tags from the Summer Journaling Tags and played around with layering them with my photos. Once I achieved the look I wanted, I started adhering everything down with my sewing machine using white thread.

I used one of the 3″ x 4″ tags from the Summer Journaling Tags to type my journaling on; I cut the end of this card off so that I could tuck it in the upper right hand corner of my layout. I slipped the small piece I clipped off the bottom at the bottom of the layout. I placed my title in the lower right hand corner in a little square created by my photos. The Gray Alphabet Puffy Stickers worked perfectly to create a neutral with all of the color on my page.

I used the Summer Stamp and Love This Life Stamp to add detail around my layout and lastly, I used the awesome Summer Puffy Stickers and Everyday Circle Stickers in various places around my photos!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with us today! Be sure to share your summer memories documented with our products by using the hashtag #EllesStudio on Instagram!

Sports Memories with Jill Sprott

Did you participate in a sport as a child that influenced the person you are today? Jill Sprott did, and she’s documenting a photo and her experience with soccer on a beautiful, introspective layout that she created using the July Kit and add-ons. Let’s see what she created.
With its bright, summery colors and bold designs, the July Kit from Elle’s Studio is ideal for sporty, outdoorsy pages, especially when paired with patterns from the Live Laugh Love collection.

Supplies | July 2017 Kit; Wood Veneer Cameras; Snapshot Acrylic; Cork Tags; Everyday Circle Stickers; AM PM Journaling Tags; Live Laugh Love 6 x 6 Paper Stack; Live Laugh Love 12 x 12 Paper Collection; Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers; Acrylic Stars – Spring Mix
Although it’s been nearly three decades since I last played a sport, my memories of playing soccer on multiple teams throughout my childhood are still very fresh in my mind. Even though I come from a soccer-obsessed family, the only photographic proof of that obsession is found in old albums featuring awkwardly-posed photos (like this one, taken during a drought in the mid-80s, which explains the lack of green grass and the reason that the photo works oddly well alongside the cork accent and woodgrain paper).

I usually prefer using candids on my scrapbook layouts, but this photo deserves attention nonetheless, as it brings to mind so many memories, which I documented here in list form. The journaling is prompted by the “Remember When” tag from the July 2017 Kit — in fact, those two words start off the list, with the word “when” repeating at the beginning of each phrase, and a question mark ending the list of recollections.

The title, which combines the Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers and the Snapshot Acrylic, does not just add dimension to the page, but also functions meaningfully in two ways — the page contains a literal snapshot of me, but the journaling also serves as a snapshot of my experience participating in a sport that transformed my childhood and no doubt influenced the person I am today.

Summer Pocket Pages with Alissa Fast

Hello! It’s Alissa here today, with another pocket page using the Summer Mini Collection. I love pocket pages and paper crafting in pocket pages is so much fun! I think it’s because I treat each pocket like a little page in a mini book. This little summer collection is perfect for a summer pocket page to document your summer days!

Supplies | Summer Journaling TagsSummer StampJuly 2017 KitLittle Acrylic StarsGray Puffy Alphabet StickersEveryday Circle Stickers
The Summer Journaling Tags include the perfect set of tags for all of your summer fun. My favorite summer activity is going to the fair. I used a couple 3″ x 4″ tags for the title and a design element. Elle’s tags are perfect just the way they are if you’re crunched for time or like a more simplistic look to your pages.

I added a few items from the July 2017 Kit to the tags and photos for added interest.

I stamped “dear summer” from the Summer Stamp and highlighted it with a brush pen to make it stand out from my journaling a bit more on the tag.

I adhered the acrylic stars on the outside of the page protector, which saves the lumpy, bumpy bulk inside the pocket.
Now, I challenge you to create a pocket page, or a regular page, using the Summer Journaling Tags and Summer Stamp. You’ll love the results!

Have a great day!

Documenting Your Own Adventures with Candace Perkins

Are you going on an adventure this summer? Maybe you’re hopping on a plane, or going on a long road trip. Or, you’re planning a stay-cation to relax and unwind? Don’t forget to document yourself in those memories! Candace Perkins is with us today to share how she did just that using the Title Builder collection and Travelogue Journaling Tags! Let’s take a look.
Hello again friends! It’s Candace back with you to share a fun project using the new Title Builder collection. I adore this new collection! It is perfect to combine words and phrases to create titles with interest and impact.

Supplies | July Kit, Everyday Circle Stickers, Title Builder Acrylic, Title Builder Wood Veneer, Title Builder Alphabet Stamp, Vellum Sentiments, Live Laugh Love Wood Veneers, Travelogue Journaling Tags
For my two-page spread, I started with a photo enlargement on the left side at 6″ x 8″. I wanted the spread’s title to stand out against the photo so I made the photo black and white and mixed the Title Builder Acrylic and Title Builder Wood Veneer elements.

On the right side of the spread I used circles as the main design idea. I punched 3″ and 2″ circles out of various tags from the Travelogue Journaling Tags. To balance the colors in the circles I added a few other circle embellishments like stickers, wood veneer, vellum shapes and die cuts. To stick with the circle theme, I typed my journaling in Photoshop inside a 2″ circle. For a little more interest I to popped up various circles on the page with dimensional adhesive.

I love that my husband snapped this picture of me and that I decided to be brave enough to tell the story: my story. I need to be better at telling my stories, I know that someday my kids will want to see me in the pages of our family scrapbook.
Have a beautiful day & tell YOUR stories!

Backyard Pocket Pages with Andrea Gray

We may have less time to document during the summer, but with the exclusive kits and extras that we offer every month, you have no excuse for letting those summer memories go undocumented! Today, Andrea Gray is showing how she’s documenting in pockets with the July Kit and add-ons. Let’s see what she created.
Hi, friends! I hope you’ve been loving you summer so far! Today I’m sharing a fun pocket page using the new July Kit + extras from Elle’s Studio!

Supplies | July Kit, Love This Life Stamp, Wood Veneer Cameras, Summer Puffy Stickers, Cork Tags, Title Builder Stamp, Title Builder Wood Veneer, Title Builder Acrylic, Summer Stamp
The color combos in this kit are wildly summer— blues, reds and shades of red are perfect for outdoor photos! So I captured a day in the backyard.
The title card here is made from the Title Builder supplies (stamps, wood and acrylic pieces to help you build titles) and I loved stacking them and mixing them up with die cuts and washi to add color!

These lined journal tags always become a favorite because it’s the right amount of space for journaling as well as a space for a fun title and embellishments! I added the “love this” circle stamp from the Love This Life Stamp and a puffy + sign from the Summer Puffy Stickers to pull in some color!

I couldn’t NOT use this adorable Cork Tag—layering and decorating around it was so much fun!

Of all of the 3″ x 4″ tags in the July Kit, this multi-colored striped one is my fave! Those colors all together make my heart so happy! The circle inside provides a canvas for so many possibilities so I decided to add a heart die cut and stamp right over it!

You have so many possibilities with the July Kit + extras and I’m excited to see how everyone is using them!
Hope you’re having a rad summer!

Title Builder Design with Jamie Leija

We are so excited to see ES fans use the Title Builder supplies on their layouts and pocket pages. Today Jamie Leija is sharing a layout that shows that the Title Builder Stamp (restock coming soon—click “email me” in the shop listing to get a notification when it is available!) is not just for creating titles! Let’s take a look.

Hiya, it’s Jamie and today I’m sharing a 12″ x 12″ layout created using the Title Builder Stamp.

Supplies | Title Builder Stamp, July Labels, Everyday Circle Stickers, Summer Puffy StickersVellum Hearts and Stars, Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack, Live Laugh Love Enamel Dots
I LOVE a good text based pattern. And the Title Builder Stamp is such a perfect set to create your own custom design. I used the stamp set, black ink and white cardstock to make my pattern. I stamped the phrases “Treasure these Happy Moments,” “Adore these Moments,” “Capturing Us,” “Documenting Important Moments,” and “Love Capturing these Moments” over and over again. Then I stamped a “Saturday” here in there from the Today Stamp to fill in space.

Once I created my pattern, I cut three large circles from the design and arranged them around my page. Then I hand stitched around them using light blue, navy and purple ink— the color scheme I went for on this page.

I printed three photos and arranged one on each of the circles. These are also where I created embellishment clusters using die cuts, stamps, puffy stickers and enamel dots.

For the title, I stamped “Favorite Moment” in a navy ink to help it stand apart. Then I hand wrote my journaling to add more variety on this text heavy page.

Documenting the 4th of July with Laura Hager

We are excited to have Laura Hager with us today sharing how she was able to document the 4th of July holiday with a couple of tags and die cuts from of our July kit and some embellishments from our coordinating add-ons! Let’s take a peek!

Hey there! I’m Laura and I’m back to show you how I used the July kit and add-ons to create a Fourth of July layout! I was starting to print my photos, when I realized that my printer was out of ink. I only ended up being able to print one picture. I decided to use this as a creative challenge and to try to make the layout out of mostly journaling tags. This month’s kit was so fun! It was so bright and colorful. The whole kit wasn’t Fourth of July themed, but it had the perfect amount of red, white and blue. I collected all the pieces that had those three colors and started working on the layout!

Supplies | July kitcork tagssummer puffy stickers, and little acrylic stars

Jen Chapin’s layout inspired me to use the cork tag and the acrylic star. This was my starting point for the layout. I only had one 4 x 6 inch picture, so I knew I needed to use that. I pulled out the 4 x 6 journaling tag from the July kit. The stripes were visible through the cork tag, so I added white card stock to hide the lines on the card under the star.

The little stars in the Summer puffy stickers were perfect for adding extra details to the layout. I used the red and blue ones around the page. I love adding little details to make the page come together.

I used a gray list card from the July kit to document some special moments from this past holiday. My typewriter isn’t working, so I used a stamp and ink to make the words. Situations like this can be a little tedious, but the effort can always be seen in the work.

This holiday was such a fun day with my family! It was so fun to document. I always love using the Elle’s Studio products, because they are so cheerful! What will you be documenting with your July Kit?
