December #EllesStudio Spottings on Instagram

We here at Elle’s Studio are so excited about a new year of memory-keeping, and creating products that make it easy for you to record your memories! We love seeing what you create and share on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio, and this month, these are the six projects that caught our eye.

On the left, Alexa Gill (a.k.a @curlywiggles) used our Little Moments collection along with the Title Builder Stamp to record a special moment with her mother in black and white. On the right, @preciselytazhi recorded special numbers with our Document December Kit and Stanley Jr. Alphabet stamps in the solid and outline.

Raquel Bowman (@raquellbowman) created a beautiful Christmas layout with our ‘Tis the Season collection on her 8-1/2″ x 11″ layout on the left, and we love the result! On the right, we love how @courtney_scraps is filling her pocket pages with the Document December Kit tags and stickers!

Look at the awesome border that @mysoulscraps stamped under her photo using the From Sketch to Finish Vol. 3 Stamp! She also used our ‘Tis the Season collection, Dated Stamp and Document December Kit to finish off this sweet page featured on the left. On the right, we are loving the traveler’s notebook page that @chris17johnston put together using our Document December Kit!

Christmas Canines with Melissa Mann and the December 2017 Kit

The holiday season keeps us busy, but now that celebrations are wrapping up and life is getting back to normal, it is the perfect time to document those special holiday moments while they are still fresh in our minds. Today we have Melissa Mann with us to share a beautiful new layout that records how her furry friends celebrated the season. Let’s see what she created.

Good morning, everyone! This is Melissa with you here today and I’m excited to share my very first project created for Elle’s Studio in 2018 using the December 2017 Kit and extras!

The holidays are over and if you are like me, you’ve packed up and put away all the holiday decor; but, if you are also like me, you didn’t get a lot of holiday scrapbooking done in December! I really wanted to scrap these pictures that my brother and I took of our dogs over the holidays! They were just too cute to not share!

I used the woodgrain pattern from the Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection to create my background frame. That is really the only piece of patterned paper I used; the only other thing I used to bring some color into the layout was with the 3″ x 4″ journaling tags from the December 2017 Kit,. Because the backgrounds of my photos of the dogs were already super busy and colorful, I didn’t want to overwhelm the layout with more patterned paper. The journaling cards worked perfectly and I was able to include my typed journaling on one, and a stapled die cut to the other one.

My other favorite part of this layout is the title! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Elle’s Studio Stanley Alphabet Stamp! I stamped my title on kraft cardstock, then fussy cut each of the letters and stitched them to my layout. I also included a little more of the kraft in the lower left hand corner using the Stanley Number Stamp to help create balance on layout.

How are you scrapping your holiday photos? Are you creating traditional layouts, pocket pages or even traveler’s notebooks? I hope this provides a bit of inspiration for your next holiday documentation project!

Handmade Thanks with Daniela Dobson

After the holiday season is over, we have a lot to be thankful for, including people who have shown us kindness. Why not send them a handmade card using the new Thank You products from the Elle’s Studio shop? Today we have Daniela Dobson sharing two beautiful and simple cards that can show someone how grateful you are. Let’s take a look.

Welcome to the Elle’s Studio blog today! It’s Daniela here, highlighting the brand new Thank You Stamp and Thank You Puffy Stickers, which are perfect for thanking friends and family after a busy holiday season!

Supplies | Thank You StampThank You Puffy Stickers, Family Fun Blank Labels, Family Fun Bits and PiecesFamily Fun Puffy Stickers, Family Fun 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack

I used white cardstock for the base of the cards with patterned paper from the Family Fun 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack cut slightly smaller than the base for a white border.

For the first card, I layered darker embellishments from the Family Fun Bits and Pieces and a large heart that I adhered using dimensional adhesive. “A note to say” from the Thank You Stamp was stamped in black ink on white cardstock and cut out to fit above the “I appreciate you so much” Thank You Puffy Sticker.

For the second card, I used lighter colors in the same style as the first card. I layered the “from the bottom of my heart” Thank You Puffy Sticker over the Family Fun Blank Label at the top, then stamped “thank you” in black in underneath the label.

Both cards are embellished with twine in matching colors from my stash and a little puffy heart from the Family Fun Puffy Stickers.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to create some thank you cards using these great Elle’s Studio products!

Documenting Days of Celebration with Suzanna Stein

After the holiday season, there is much to document! Some of the days of celebration are long, and today design team member Suzanna Stein is showing how she uses the Time Stamp to get all of the little details down. Let’s take a look at what she created.

Hey there crafty pals! Suzanna here, and I’m so excited to share this project I created highlighting the Time Stamp. I’m a bit behind on my weekly pocket pages, and when I saw the Time Stamp, I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for—I paired it with the Family Fun collection for the perfect little set of products to document our Thanksgiving day.

I used the different phases of the day (morning, afternoon, evening, etc.) to document our activities throughout the day. Since this is a day I took more photos than I do on an average day, using the Time Stamp is a perfect way to document them!

For my title card, I did a brief overview of our day, broken down by morning/afternoon/night. I love the way the white pen pops against that wood grain journaling tag from the Family Fun Double-Sided Journaling Tags!

Our day this year had three main events that I wanted to remember. For those, I used specific times and a journaling tag with three designated spaces. Such a simple way to document, and I know I’ll love looking back at this in the coming years!

I used various die cuts from the Family Fun Bits and Pieces to embellish my photos and layout. I just love the way this turned out, and the fact that I am able to remember these pieces of the day in order from morning to night.

I hope this gave you a few ideas on how to record those days with more photos than normal, or days you’d like to keep track of in more detail! Happy documenting!

A Document December Kit Layout with Allie Stewart

We always love what Allie Stewart creates and shares with us here on the Elle’s Studio blog, and for her final post today, she sharing a festive layout in her signature style using the Document December Kit. Let’s see what she made.

Hello friends, today I’m sharing my final layout with the Elle’s Studio team! It’s been an honor to be among this talented group of women, and it’s been so inspiring to create with all of the beautiful product that Elle makes. Today’s layout uses the Document December Kit, and it is super festive!

Supplies | Document December Kit, Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection

I started out with a holly wreath cut file. I love the smaller patterns on the Document December patterned paper, and used them to back the holly. I glued the holly wreath down onto the Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection woodgrain paper. Next, I added sequins from the kit along the wreath for some extra festive sparkle. I love how subtle and pretty they are!

I used the adorable “HO HO HO” wood veneer as a title. The O’s in the piece were the perfect size to be filled with the circle shapes from the Document December  chipboard sheet. I added my photo, and the layout was complete! Once I had the holly wreath backed, the page came together quite quickly to put me in the mood for Christmas!

Thank you so much for joining me here today, and for allowing me to share my creations with you. I wish you all a very happy holiday season!

Everyday December Documenting with Alissa Fast

Maybe your December documentation didn’t exactly go as planned, and you had to scale back your expectations this month? Today Alissa Fast is with us to share how she’s using her Document December Kit in her everyday monthly documentation, in lieu of a daily project—with great results! Let’s take a look.

Hello! Alissa here today, with a 12″ x 12″ pocket page, using the awesome Document December Kit. This kit is great for daily documentation, but also great for documenting larger pocket pages in your 12″ x 12″ albums. So, if a daily project in December seems overwhelming, this fabulous kit will not go to waste. Use it to document your favorite December moments in your regular pocket page albums.

Supplies | Document December Kit, Green Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Time Stamp, Stanley Alphabet Stamp — Outline

This 4″ x 6″ and 3″ x 4″ pocket page is one of my favorites for 12″ x 12″ pocket page layouts. I love embellishing my 3″ x 4″ tags down the center of the page and using Document December Kit embellishments for the four 4″ x 6″ photos.

The sequins and wood stars in the confetti bag are perfect for adding a line of sparkle to this green 3″ x 4″ tag.

I used the December cut apart pieces from the Document December Kit to label the photos, not with the date, but to match up to the list on the 3″ x 4″ journaling tag with a description of each photo. I love using different fonts in my lists and these products are perfect for creating that mixed-font look I love.

If you picked up the Document December Kit and just haven’t had time to put together a daily December album this year, not to worry—the products are perfect for documenting the holidays after they’re over. You’ll love the results!

Holiday Album Wrap-Up With Jill Sprott

With the year almost coming to an end, its important that we document our holiday events from the past few weeks while the memories are still fresh in our mind. Today, Jill Sprott is with us to share her December album, and offer a few tips on how to finish off this important project in a simple and beautiful way! Let’s see what she’s created.

If we have learned any lessons from the Griswold family over the years when it comes to the holidays, one is that we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously, and another is that we can reduce quite a bit of stress by embracing a spirit of “let it happen” (because it’s bound to happen anyway). This is the logic by which I approach holiday shopping, holiday gatherings, holiday gift-wrapping, and even holiday albums.

Supplies | December 2017 Kit, Hello Winter Chipboard, Twinkle Puffy Stickers, Vellum Holiday Shapes, Tis the Season Wood Veneer Labels, Winter Wood Veneer Words, Light Gray Cardstock Alphabet Stickers, December Labels, Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection

The December Kit and extras from Elle’s Studio have been assisting me in creating pages that are born out of the moment instead of adhering to some grand design. Each has its own unique feel.

It doesn’t take much to add a little magic to each page — just a wood veneer piece here, a chipboard piece there, and some stitching for a bit of charm.

In my album, repurposed gift tags and cards keep company with Elle’s Studio Hello Winter Chipboard and Vellum Holiday Shapes. Before you trash anything this year, think about whether it might become treasure when added to your album.

Don’t forget to make room for journaling in your album, sharing your reflections and observations. The December Labels and small tags from the December 2017 Kit are perfect for adding these little notes in your album.

Among my overtly Christmas-themed pages, I also incorporate ones that document everyday life in December. Take a photo of your table, your desk, or your purse, and create a page or two that focuses on the details. It’s guaranteed to be symptomatic of where your head is at right now.

On this spread, I used the Light Gray Cardstock Alphabet Stickers to number the items on my desk in the photo, and matched the numbers with my journaling on the right side.

Including the everyday in my album means adding at least one page about December traffic (and making light of it instead of letting road rage prevail). As much as I hate traffic, I do get to witness a beautiful sunrise on my way to work each morning, and the “all is bright” wood veneer from the Winter Wood Veneer Words fit the page perfectly.

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas from all of us here at Elle’s Studio! We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season surrounded by the ones you love! Don’t forget to pull out your camera and document those special moments so you can treasure them for years to come!

Merry Christmas!
